Worthless Without It…

How much is your integrity worth? The answer is simple…EVERYTHING! Why? Because having integrity is priceless! It can not be bought and reaching a goal without it isn’t a ‘success’, it’s actually a total failure. As soon as famous cyclist Lance Armstrong was found to be doping over his ‘impressive winning’ career, his seven ‘Tour de France’ championships became a sham. He instantly became famous for being a phony and cheater.  The moral of his story and unfortunately so many other athletes and business leaders in our culture today is that achieving a goal without integrity is simply fake.  If you don’t have integrity, then what you’re trying to do just doesn’t really matter, it’s hollow, short-lived, and pretend.

Integrity is choosing your thoughts and actions based on values rather than personal gain. No matter how educated, talented, rich, or cool someone might believe they are, how we treat people will tell everything about us. Integrity is not something we show others, it’s how we behave when no one is looking. An image might be what people think we are, but integrity is what we really are.  There is no better test of integrity than our behavior when we’re wrong. Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring, and integrity, they think of you. Honesty and integrity are absolutely essential for success in life – all areas of life.  A life lived with integrity – even if it lacks the trappings of fame and fortune is a shining star in whose light others may follow in the years to come

Integrity is everything, ‘whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.’ The integrity of men is to be measured by their conduct, not by their profession. There is no better test of integrity than your behavior when you’re wrong. Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring, and integrity, they think of you. I believe that we should live in such a way that if someone spoke badly of us, no one would believe it.

Anyone can develop both honesty and integrity.
